Abstract

The era of Jāhiliyya (Age of Ignorance) is marked by cultural, moral, and social practices prevalent in pre-Islamic Arabia that were later transformed by the advent of Islam. This study examines the key manifestations of Jāhiliyya, such as idol worship, tribalism, social injustices, and moral decline, and contrasts them with the transformative principles introduced by Islamic teachings. Islam redefined the social and spiritual framework, introducing monotheism, equality, justice, and moral excellence as cornerstones of its civilization. The study employs a comparative approach to highlight how Islamic teachings eradicated harmful practices, replacing them with principles that ensured individual dignity and societal harmony. Furthermore, this research explores the enduring relevance of these transformations, addressing how the lessons from Jāhiliyya can be applied in the modern context to combat prevalent challenges such as moral decay and social inequality. The study concludes with actionable recommendations to foster understanding of Islamic values as a source of guidance for both individual and collective development.
