Abstract

Polemic themes have largely guided Western study on the Qur'an, as seen by its history. The book had such deeply ingrained roots in rage and hatred that it had two long-lasting repercussions. On the one hand, modern western writings on the Qur'an bear resemblances to the works created at the time. However, they had a negative impact on Muslim thought, leading them to mostly reject Western academic knowledge and replace it with the same antiquated model of orientalism and ancient argumentative traditions. The modern Western interpretations of the Qur'an aim to reassure Muslims that it has broken free from the long-standing bonds of prejudice and bigotry. Scholars from the West and the Muslim world are debating this matter. Academicians from the West attempt to instill the notion that the field of Islamic studies has been impacted by the development of objectivity and scientific procedures in the West. Therefore, they assert a shift and in the most current western Qur'anic research.
