Abstract

Islam is a complete code of conduct and guidance for human beings until the Day of Judgment. This is because it describes the rules and problems of all classes of humanity. These include rules and issues for men and women. Some of the rules of men and women are different, for example, a woman cannot perform jamaat, it is necessary for her to cover her head etc. In some rulings, the rulings are the same for men and women, such as prayers, zakat, fasting, payment of Hajj, and wills and inheritances. The share of a woman in inheritance is different from that of a man but equality is in the fact that just as a man inherits, so does a woman. The rules in a will for a man are almost the same for a woman. In this article, the rules and wills of women are presented in the context of the texts of the Holy Quran, the hadiths of the Prophet (PBUH)and the Urdu commentary literature of the subcontinent.
