Abstract

Within the intricate fabric of the Indian subcontinent’s cultural and spiritual legacy lies the enigmatic Qalandari tradition. Rooted in Sufism, it bears witness to the great depths of mysticism and spirituality that have pervaded this region for centuries. Their unorthodox behavior has caused a hue and cry from different quarters. However, some Sufis have spoken in their favour. For a better comprehension of the transformative journey of Qalandars, this article will explore its philosophical foundations, historical roots, cultural manifestations, and current significance.
