Abstract

Denial of women's rights is a global problem, but in the Indian subcontinent, where women's other rights are denied, they are also deprived of their Shariah rights of inheritance, although Islam is the biggest supporter of women's rights. It provides all the rights that are not available to women in any society, even if it is a developed society. But instead of following Islamic injunctions, Muslims are influenced by Hindu traditions and customs and make women happy with dowry items. Dowry is given the name of inheritance, thereby depriving them of inheritance. But can dowry be a substitute for inheritance, this is an important question, the answer of which is sought in this article.
